In fact these two features of your business go hand-in-hand. Let's be realistic about it. Without one the other is pointless.

Customer service is tremendously important and should form part of your total business model to make certain your customers are presented with a very rewarding experience.

One of the ways you can combine marketing and customer service is via the use of opt-in marketing.

Opt-in marketing is a low cost, one time useful strategy for building your income. In essence you get the permission of your visitors to agree to you sending them additional information about your selected niche area so that you can develop a relationship with them.

The information you send to your readers must include a mixture of real content and promotional items in a way that will seize the interest and the eye of your subscribers to cause them to wish for more. The best approach is to supply funny, compelling and informative articles.

Many sites and successful marketers have realized the significance of well written articles that are filled with valuable content and they have quickly learned that this is essential in building a highly responsive list.

Basically, when you write helpful and informative content your readers will be interested to know what they can learn from you next and this will persuade them to subscribe to your newsletter to get an indication of what you offer.

Articles that are developed with well selected keywords can also help in search engine optimization. Increasingly people are turning to the internet to find information about their interests. So if you make available the content your readers are looking for, they will go to your site for information and research.

So providing the right information via articles on your site will boost the flow of traffic. And as you know, the more traffic you get - the more sales you will make. Needless to say, more sales develop into more profits!

Well written articles can also improve your sites status. If your articles are filled with genuine information you will be considered an expert on the topics that you undertake. Once you have achieved your readers confidence, they will continue to come to you for
your help and advice on that subject.

The most searched for articles are ones that supply tips, guidelines or systems. So if you can provide answers based on these ideas you will grow the confidence of your readers and they will impatiently wait for your updates or go to your site for help and guidance – and also to purchase your products.

If you supply them with the solutions they need, they will be pleased to receive your newsletters as well as your other promotional information to keep them up to date. Many will even forward your newsletters to other people when they find a particular article interesting.

For this reason you should also insert links in your newsletter so that when other people are reading it, they can easily find your site. Then when they reach your site they may choose to sign up to your list so they can get frequent information on their area of interest.

But above everything else, make sure to keep your subscribers satisfied and interested by providing a sense of balance between pure content and promotional updates. Keep on writing and posting informative articles on your site and in your newsletter!
